Dear Dorrit is an alternative band based in Phoenix. Formed in the winter of 2023 by sisters Sofia Damia (Bass/Voice), and Venus Navarro (Guitar/Synth/Vocals). Dear Dorrit explores melodic and harmonic roots inspired by the early 80’s post-punk and post-hardcore scene, wrapping their sound with an immersive atmosphere of guitar dialogs reminiscent of later shoegaze influences.

 

Within six months of forming, Dear Dorrit wrote and recorded their debut 4-track EP ‘Bedroom Flood’ as an opening statement of their indivisible music, narrative, and aesthetic proposals. Dear Dorrit’s lyrics convey existential emotions with a warm and raw sound.

 

‘Bedroom Flood’ summarizes a defining time, in which the sisters worked on merging their upbringing musical backgrounds. With Sof's straight-edge interests, and Venus' shoegaze direction, Dear Dorrit's sound evolved into a distinct musical genre. Their honest approach to musical execution is manifestly reflected upon their moving and capturing live shows.

 

Today the band is working on their first LP, consolidating their style while simultaneously exploring new sonic and symphonic paths.
